Overview
Location: GA, NYC, IL or CT | 145K – 165K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package. Senior Complex Claims Specialist MPL (Misc Professional Lines) in Atlanta, GA - Dunwoody / Sandy Springs area, NYC (midtown), Hartford, CT or Chicago, IL (hybrid schedule in-office 2 days).
The primary role is to analyze liability claim submissions (mid to high severity) for potential coverage, set adequate case reserves, respond to inquiries from customers and their brokers, and proactively drive resolution of MPL claims.
Responsibilities
Adjust to resolution highest severity claims
Review and analyze claim documentation and legal filings
Set strategy and maximize early settlement opportunities, leading investigation, negation and resolutions
Draft complex technical coverage analyses
Lead litigation strategy including leading trials, mediations and/or settlement conferences
Continually assess exposures and adequacy of claim reserves
Maintain timely and accurate file documentation/information in claims system
Identify and provide solutions for emerging exposures and trends
Mentor team members
Develop content and conduct trainings for Claims & Underwriting as needed
Requirements
JD from an ABA-accredited law school and bar admission in good standing or 10+ years relevant claims experience
Expert knowledge in MPL
Experience managing severe claims through investigation, negotiation and leading litigation
Excellent analytical skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
