Overview
The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a CSP Data Collection Specialist I for the Los Angeles Cancer Surveillance Program at the University of Southern California. This is the cancer registry for Los Angeles County, one of the largest and most scientifically active cancer registries in the United States.
Responsibilities
Perform specialized skills as part of the Quality Control team including processing linkages, consolidations, visual editing, and clearing edits.
Code and stage cancer registry case reports using Solid Tumor Rules, SEER staging guidelines, and other appropriate references.
Accurately and completely enter data in registry data systems.
Process follow-up, Death Certificates, and other record types.
Demonstrate technical and professional skills; assure protection of confidential data.
Assist with special data collection and quality control projects.
Qualifications
Oncology Data Specialist-eligible (ODS) is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training
Minimum Experience:
Minimum Skills: Experience working in a medical office.
Preferred Education: Bachelor\'s degree
Preferred Experience: 1 year
Preferred Skills: Experience handling medical records.
Compensation The hourly rate range for this position is $27.70 - $28.50.
