Primary Purpose Of Position The Grant Accountant provides financial management of contract and grant funds received from various Federal, State, and other sponsoring agencies. Responsibilities

Review award documents to determine specific terms, conditions and reporting requirements. Approve payroll documents, subcontractor payments and other expenditures. Validate budgets; monitor transactions and other categories of costs in compliance with Federal, State, and University regulations. Prepare financial reports and invoices as required by the sponsoring agency from inception to closeout for all assigned awards, and prepare payment requests to obtain funds from the sponsoring agency. Interface with Principal Investigator/Project Director, staff in DORED and other university personnel to assure successful fiscal management. Directly support the College of Ag & Environ Sciences. Use various software applications (e.g., BANNER Finance, Aggie Mart, InFoed, People Admin, Microsoft Word, and Excel). Organizational Unit & Environment

The Division of Research and Economic Development ( DORED ) provides services to faculty and student researchers, current and potential research partners, funding agencies, and economic development agencies. It is headed by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development. The Office of Contracts and Grants is responsible for the financial and regulatory administration of all contracts & grants awarded to N.C. A&T. This Grant Accountant directly supports the College of Ag & Environ Sciences. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate’s degree in Accounting; or Associate’s degree in Business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Not specified in this posting.
