$18.00 (Hourly)
Scope Of Position Under the direction of the Center Coordinator, the Food Bank Coordinator oversees the operations of the Food Bank, including recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers; purchasing; restocking; ordering; preparing food; overseeing costs and quality control; coordinating food deliveries; and preparing monthly statistics and reports as required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Demonstrate a commitment to the values of equity and inclusion by honoring diverse characteristics and expressions of personal identity.
Screen clients for emergency referrals as appropriate
Maintain the highest level of food program standards, including WA food health and safety standards and compliance with grants and contracts.
Maintain food inventory with FIFO standards.
Place orders with vendors, purchase food and non-food items from local stores, and procure and manage donated food.
Assist with volunteer recruitment, coordination, training, and retention.
Train, schedule, and provide daily oversight and coordination of food program volunteers.
Ensure logs are maintained, service units are recorded in the client database, and reports are generated as needed.
Pack food orders and stock shelves as needed.
Be responsible for implementing food program policies and procedures.
Help with food pickup and deliveries.
Ensure that the facility is cleaned daily and kept in an organized manner.
Assist in maintaining maintenance and cleaning policies and procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours, food program-related events, and overtime hours, especially between Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Support other program initiatives throughout the year
All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
Ability to operate telephone
Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to access and produce information from a computer
Ability to understand written information
Ability to climb a ladder to a height of twenty feet or more
Ability to operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
Non-use of any substance, including alcohol or any drug, which might affect the health, safety, or well-being of a client, the public, other workers, and self while on the job or on Army premises.

Education And Work Experience
Candidate should have 1 year of experience in one of the following categories: supervising volunteers, working within a non-profit organization, customer service, food service, or food bank operation.
The minimum requirement is a High School diploma or equivalent.
Current, valid Washington State driver’s license, a safe driving record, and ability to pass the Salvation Army’s driver safety test.
Ability to attain and maintain a Food Handler’s certificate.
