Overview
Finance Coordinator, Student Activities, Involvement and Leadership Office (SAIL) at Colorado School of Mines. Provides administrative and financial support to the SAIL Office, including coordination of student travel, budgeting, reporting, and data management. Acts as co-advisor to the Student Organizations Finance Committee and oversees financial processes for 180+ RSOs, while ensuring alignment with Mines policies and campus programs. The role may require occasional night or weekend work to support campus events. Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate student travel and travel budgets; enforce Mines travel policies and determine appropriate travel arrangements and alternate itineraries as needed. Collect documentation to create travel approvals and reports; ensure Clery Act form submission compliance. Provide administrative oversight of the OreConnect platform used to manage clubs, campus forms, and budgeting. Manage CashNet procedures: develop pages, collaborate with partner offices to build sites, test, and administer; create and update CashNet pages for student groups. Advise and support the Student Organization Finance Committee (SOFC) and oversee financial decisions for student organizations; interact with various departments on purchase requests and spending. Oversee Venues and the SAIL portion of ticketing pages; manage related accounts and communications with partner departments. Review purchase requests from student groups and manage the process from inception to completion; communicate progress with partner departments. Provide training and enforcement of Mines and SAIL financial policies for RSOs; support financial activities and reporting. Extract, compile, and distribute financial reports; submit reports to accounting for tax liability assessment. Reconcile deposits with RSOs budgets; handle daily deposits for student organizations and the SAIL office. Supervise student staff with financial responsibilities; approve timesheets and manage student contracts. Support technology functions within SAIL (digital signage, SAIL website, Banner software) and manage branded merchandise orders in line with campus branding policy. Support RSO-related activities in coordination with the RSO Coordinator and Associate Director of Finance & Operations; assist with SAIL Front Desk oversight. Additional Responsibilities
Assist SAIL professional staff with financial and administrative duties as needed. Support departmental event scheduling and related activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of progressive experience in a higher education setting; understanding of student services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of financial policy to grant or deny requests. Ability to relate to and work with individuals and groups with varying backgrounds and skills. Proficient computer skills with relational databases; advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; experience providing high-level customer service and managing escalations. Proven ability to de-escalate challenging situations; strong multi-tasking and attention to detail. Full-time position with some flexible scheduling depending on time of year. Preferred Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bookkeeping or accounting experience; familiarity with diversity and equity principles; experience creating reports and infographics. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency with Workday Enterprise Management, Transact/CashNet, Campus Groups or equivalent; knowledge of Acrobat. Job Demands and Working Conditions
