The Financial Services Advisor is responsible for advising and assisting current and prospective students with all aspects of financial aid, including accurately and efficiently advising, packaging, and awarding financial aid. Weekly reports on the status of each student’s application process will be prepared and distributed. Responsibilities
Counsel prospective students and/or parents regarding financial aid. Counsel and advise current students on their financial aid package and direct them to appropriate departments for any areas needing assistance. Assist in the completion of the FAFSA, Stafford loan application and other financial aid documentation for incoming students. Review financial aid package with students. Verify accuracy of the students ISIR. Accurately package financial aid awards in the SCT Banner system. Monitor and track students’ awards to ensure funds are received in a timely manner. Follow up with students on missing or inaccurate information. Adhere to all Federal and State Financial Aid Guidelines. Other duties as assigned by manager. Qualifications
Associates Degree required; a Bachelors degree is a plus. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse group in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. High attention to detail. Knowledge of SCT Banner, Title IV and NYS Financial Aid Programs a plus. Availability for day, evening and weekend hours. Salary and Schedule
Salary Range: $45,000 - $47,000 ($21.63 - $22.60 per hour). This position is eligible for overtime. Compensation will be provided as a good faith estimate and may vary based on experience, skill sets, training, licensure, and other business needs.
