Agency Overview The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency administers the Florida Medicaid program, licenses and regulates nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and promotes healthcare transparency initiatives. Position Overview This is not a remote (telework) position.

Salary $1,833.39 - $2,383.41 Biweekly.

This position has been identified as mission essential. The incumbent may be required to work during weekends or holidays, and during disasters, including extended or irregular hours and locations as needed.

A good attendance record is essential; the individual is expected to report to work daily and on time.

Responsibilities

Apply accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theory, and technical skills in accordance with GAAP in the Policy and Systems Section (P&S) of the Bureau of Financial Services.

Knowledge of Florida statutes, the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), and AHCA accounting procedures.

Collaborate with the QA Review Administrator; perform QA reviews, audit and inspect financial records and accounting activities.

Assist with developing and preparing audit reports and employee scorecards; monitor, compile, and distribute periodic QA reports.

Maintain policies and procedures to ensure complete, adequately supported, compliant, and properly authorized financial transactions and records.

Serve as Back-up Administrator for the Purchasing Card (P-Card) program and Back-up Travel Administrator for the Statewide Travel Management System (STMS).

Assist with or conduct training related to proper financial management and internal controls.

Participate in year-end closing activities, including fund analyses and work papers.

Perform related duties as required, including:

Back-up daily distribution of reports; provide technical assistance to AHCA personnel and auditors.

Back-up monthly Agency-to-Comptroller reconciliations.

Review draw requests for contract and grant payments; reconcile inter/intra-agency transfers quarterly.

Prepare monthly reallocation of expenditures and non-operating cash transfers; process Biomedical transfers and Tobacco Settlement Trust Fund requests.

Update FLAIR Title File records and object codes; process Ariba On Demand invoices.

Back-up for the Medicaid Run.

Support fiscal and program offices on financial management and internal controls.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of professional work experience in FLAIR or preparing State of Florida financial statements.

Four (4) years of professional work experience in Reconciliation.

Four (4) years of professional work experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).

Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
