Overview

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (BXDA) seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Trial Preparation Assistant Supervisor to oversee the duties and train the professional staff in the Trial Division. BXDA is charged with pursuing justice with integrity, balancing public safety with equal justice, and recognizing when punitive measures do not advance justice. The BXDA aims to provide assistance for crime victims while ensuring fairness to defendants. Responsibilities

Training TPAs to function within their bureau’s requirements. Oversee and track duties of the bureau’s professional staff assignments. Maintain a reduced caseload. Communicate with the Director and Deputy Director as to the productivity of professional staff regularly. Responsible for developing and evaluating the professional staff within the bureau. Administrative management such as maintaining spreadsheets, schedules, coverage, etc. Perform all bureau-related duties as needed or assigned, including but not limited to drafting or typing of correspondence and confidential documents, updating computer-based tracking systems, record keeping, filing, and document preparation. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above, with at least one year of experience as described in the first option. Preferred Skills

A baccalaureate degree preferred or a high school diploma with four years of work experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization. Minimum 2 years as a Trial Preparation Assistant 2 or comparable paralegal experience. A valid New York State driver’s license with a minimum of two years of driving experience and must be maintained for the duration of employment. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Discretion and integrity to work on highly confidential investigations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with general court services and functions. Benefits and Additional Information
