Controller – Troon Join Troon as a Property Controller to oversee the financial, accounting, and administrative activities for the company’s golf clubs in Fort Myers.

Salary:

$95,000 – $105,000.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Oversee accounting and administrative controls to protect company assets and prevent fraud.

Assist the General Manager in preparing and monitoring the annual budget and generating business volume forecasts.

Measure and coordinate property performance, including revenue, costs, net income, cash position, and capital requirements.

Manage the full-cycle close process: prepare financial statements and reconcile balance-sheet accounts each month.

Control real estate and property transactions, including sales, title recordings, and escrow processes.

Supervise bookkeeping for owner construction entities and related activities.

Analyze and ensure the accuracy of balance-sheet accounts, including AR, AP, inventory, accruals, and intercompany entries.

Conduct daily revenue audits for departments such as Golf, Food & Beverage, and hotel rooms.

Coordinate property cash flow and vendor payments; alert management of any cash flow issues.

Prepare, coordinate, and review year-end closing with the Regional Controller.

Recommend policy and procedural improvements based on continuous analysis.

Maintain accounting protocols and workflows that align with Troon Golf standards.

Monitor vendor contracts and ensure compliance with tax filing requirements.

Manage accounts receivable and payable functions, including invoicing, payments, collections, and reconciliations.

Reconcile petty cash, bank accounts, and cash reserves.

Recruit, train, evaluate, and manage department staff, including Property Accountant, Administrative Assistant, and Bookkeeper.

Ensure reliable attendance and perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 4 to 10 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience).

Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

Familiarity with Jonas POS/Accounting software is desirable.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of property management systems.

Ability to read and speak English adequately for job duties.
