Catalyst Labs is seeking a Founding Private Client Tax Analyst HNWI to join their team in downtown San Francisco. The company is a startup building the next generation tax forecasting engine for high-net-worth individuals, designed to give users visibility into their tax obligations, simulate outcomes, and identify strategies to minimize their effective tax rate. Responsibilities
As the Founding Tax Analyst, you will define the core tax intelligence of the platform, translating complex federal and state tax law into accurate, executable models. You will work closely with engineers to systemize and digitize tax rules. Write natural language tax calculation logic and develop frameworks for simulation stacks that reflect real-world HNWI scenarios. Analyze 1040s and related forms to identify optimization opportunities, including equity compensation, AMT, trusts, estates, and multi-entity portfolios. Collaborate with engineers to digitize tax rules, ensuring accuracy and actionable outputs. Apply AI and prompt engineering techniques to extract insights from tax documents and identify areas for optimization. Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state tax laws, providing guidance to the team on interpretation and edge cases. Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience in tax preparation, advisory, or accounting with HNWI clients, and a deep understanding of AMT, equity compensation, and multi-entity tax structures. 4-8 years of experience in tax preparation, advisory, or accounting with HNWI clients. On-site in San Francisco (Embarcadero / Ferry Building). No visa sponsorship available. Candidates must have or be able to independently obtain U.S. work authorization.
