The Culinary Assistant supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality meal services to residents. Responsibilities include meal preparation assistance, dining room setup, food service, and ensuring compliance with dietary and sanitary regulations, all while providing exceptional customer service. Duties And Responsibilities
Meal Service (25%)
Serve food to residents, considering individual dietary needs and preferences. Ensure meals are served promptly, maintaining residents' comfort and dignity.
Dining Room Setup and Cleanup (20%)
Prepare the dining room before meals, ensuring proper table arrangements and supplies. Clean dining areas after meals, including clearing tables and wiping surfaces.
Meal Preparation Assistance (20%)
Assist with meal prep, such as chopping, mixing, and portioning. Follow recipes and dietary procedures to ensure quality and safety.
Sanitation and Safety Compliance (15%)
Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas, adhering to regulations. Follow infection control guidelines to prevent illness spread.
Compliance and Training (10%)
Follow infection control and privacy regulations (HIPAA). Attend meetings and complete mandatory training. Provide compassionate and empathetic customer service to residents and families.
Reporting and Documentation (5%)
Report environmental issues or hazards. Document incidents or concerns related to food service or residents.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in food service or healthcare preferred. Strong communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and customer service skills. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive tasks like stirring, lifting, and bending. Work involves exposure to kitchen equipment, chemicals, and potential infectious diseases. Availability to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Seniority level
