Responsible for using consultative sales processes to identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects, while working to acquire new households and deepen existing relationships. This role is a Financial Center position, with potential rotations in operations and Sales & Service during a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, culminating in certification to demonstrate necessary skills for the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I may work in a Financial Center lobby, Bank Mart aisles, or via tele-consulting, and will process teller transactions as part of the platform team.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services; recommend appropriate solutions using the company value proposition.
Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
Cross-sell to existing customers and engage in outside sales activities (e.g., Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls, community financial literacy events) as directed.
Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) and refer customers to provide timely, holistic financial solutions.
Meet/exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals and contribute to year-over-year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
Provide guidance to CSRs regarding the sales and referral process.
Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.
Maintain confidentiality and follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.
Adhere to established policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of Retail products.
Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
Assist with opening/closing processes for the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed by the Financial Center Manager.
Stay up to date on Retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and risk.
Supervisory Responsibilities None.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
College degree or work experience providing transferable skills, or a combination of education and experience.
Experience in the financial industry preferred.
Ability to develop comfort with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer households and small business customers and/or cross-sell to established customers.
Ability to understand advanced math functions for analysis of credit and financial information.
Professional appearance and effective verbal/written communication.
Working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to make sound decisions.
This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
Working Conditions
Normal office environment.
Extended viewing of computer screens.
Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility; travel outside the affiliate for classroom training may be required.
