Job Summary Trane Technologies is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the area environmental safety and health program as directed by the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Leader.

Where is the work This position is designated as remote within geography and covers the Utah and Idaho Regions. The candidate should be in close proximity to the Salt Lake City office and travel to the Boise, ID office regularly by air.
What you will do
Assist with leading and coordinating safety process efforts in the commercial sales/service office as directed by the Regional EHS Leader.
Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and jobsite visits with technicians at customer sites (service and contracting).
Ensure all safety, occupational health, and environmental records are maintained and compliant with OSHA, DOT, provincial/state regulations and Trane procedures.
Implement Trane safety policies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Analyze safety data to coordinate continual improvement and participate in Lean processes (including Regional EHS A3).
Assist in developing and conducting annual safety training in assigned area offices for regional employees.
Conduct new-hire safety training in assigned areas; purchase required PPE, conduct high-risk training, and assign online training as determined by the business and regional training plan.
Maintain regional training, Qualified Person, PPE, and inspection databases.
Participate in corporate teams to assist in safety policy and procedure development.
Process safety and environmental invoices and purchase requisitions in a timely manner.
Coordinate and lead Safety Committees in assigned areas and complete action items promptly.
Investigate injuries, near misses, incidents, and accidents; ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed.
Complete third-party qualifications via ISN, Avetta, etc.
Utilize the EHS platform (Gensuite) to assign and monitor inspections, concern and near-miss reports, action items, and generate reports as directed.
Ensure inspections and audits are completed regularly in assigned area offices; assist inspectors with corrective actions and prevention measures.
Assist with administering the workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier and the return-to-work program.
Represent the organization in the community and/or industry safety groups and programs.
Assist in evaluating contractors as part of the regional contractor qualification program.
Travel up to 65% within the region, with approximately 25% overnight stays. Travel to other office locations and customer work sites; a company fleet vehicle is provided for travel.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental or safety sciences/engineering, or a related field.
One or more safety-related professional certifications are desired (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHSM).
At least 3+ years of practical EHS management experience at a medium to large site.
General knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MSHA, DOT, and relevant regulations; ability to interpret standards regionally.
Experience in fast-paced, changing environments.
Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major violations in the past 3 years (no DUI in last 5 years; other major infractions as listed).
Strong time management, MS Office skills, and EHS data management proficiency (e.g., Gensuite).
Ability to motivate, engage, and influence others; excellent written and verbal English; bilingual is a plus.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a team; self-starter; able to climb ladders and work at heights; able to work in diverse environments (offices, construction sites, rooftops, warehouses, plants).
Comfortable presenting training material to large audiences and communicating with leaders; ability to design and deliver training material.
Aim to develop a working knowledge of the regional and company safety culture.
Compensation Base Pay Range: $84,650 - 112,850
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
