Faculty may teach at multiple sites, via distance learning (ITV, online, etc.), and traditional classroom settings, possibly evenings and weekends. JOB SUMMARY
Provide quality education to students at Central Arizona College. Perform instruction-related duties aligned with the college’s philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities
Teach Commercial Electrician Installer courses using the NCCER Core Curriculum (CORE, Electrical Level I & II), Electrical Trade, Safety, Electrical Circuits & Theory, the National Electrical Code, Device Boxes, Basic Electrical Construction Drawings, Test Equipment, Alternating Current, Motor Theory & Application, Lighting, Conduit Bending, etc. Additionally, teach OSHA 30 or become an "Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor" as per college policy, in various modalities (face-to-face, online, hybrid, ITV, weekend, evening, late start classes) at any campus or center based on student needs. Deliver content through lectures, labs, seminars, and other learning venues, employing diverse teaching methods suited to the course content. Use various assessment tools; evaluate student work, provide feedback, and communicate effectively via email, online discussions, virtual chats, IM, phone, or face-to-face to support student progress. Maintain office hours as per college policy, keep records of student progress, complete reports on time, develop instructional materials, and prepare syllabi and course calendars. Review and update course outlines, texts, and syllabi collaboratively with faculty and academic leadership. Develop new courses, curricula, instructional materials, and evaluation tools to meet community and student needs. Support student recruitment and retention through effective teaching and learning strategies. Stay informed about instructional trends, pedagogy, and emerging technologies to enhance program quality. Qualifications
Current industry certification and at least five years of relevant occupational experience. Desirable Qualifications
Associate's degree with over five years of experience, OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 trainer certification, and ability to collaborate with construction companies to expand the Industrial Carpentry program.
