The Department of Kinesiology in Jacksonville State University’s College of Health Professions and Wellness invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. The Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology provides educational services to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening; teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Kinesiology, and may be required to teach courses within his/her concentration area on campus, off-campus, online courses and possible videoconferencing depending on need of location. The Jacksonville State University College of Health Professions and Wellness was established to deliver a top-quality education for 21st-century professionals in an effort to promote health and wellness in our communities, state, nation, and around the world. Position Requirements Earned doctorate in Sport Management or closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates near completion will be considered) Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the university level Evidence of a promising research agenda and scholarly publications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment Preference may be given to those who possess the following: Experience with COSMA (Commission on Sport Management Accreditation) processes and standards Industry experience in sport management or related fields Expertise in one or more of the following areas: sport marketing, sport communication, sport finance, sport law, or sport analytics Experience with online and hybrid course delivery Record of successful grant writing or external funding acquisition Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume or CV, teaching philosophy, and unofficial transcripts to be considered for the position.
