Cultural Resources Specialist & Field Technician
ProSidian is a Management and Operations Consulting Services Firm focusing on providing value to clients through tailored solutions based on industry leading practices. ProSidian Seeks a Cultural Resources Specialist & Field Technician to support professional services engagement for Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Sector Clients such as NPS. This is a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Position. JOB OVERVIEW Provide services and support as a Archeological Study (Cultural Resources Specialist/Field Technician) in the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Industry Sector focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as National Park Service (NPS) | Department of the Interior Located In Prince William County, Virginia and across the Region. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Conduct field surveys and excavations to identify and document cultural resources and archaeological sites. Assist in recording and documenting fieldwork, including taking notes, photographs, and preparing preliminary analyses of findings. Follow guidelines for fieldwork and site access as outlined in the project schedule and communicate with the park POC for site visits. Prepare and contribute to the End of Fieldwork Summary and support the creation of the Phase I Archaeological Survey Report. Ensure all artifacts and field notes are cataloged and prepared to meet NPS curatorial standards. Support the delivery of final artifact catalog and documentation within 300 days of start. Desired Qualifications Hands-on experience in field archaeology, including site survey, excavation, and documentation. Familiarity with archaeological field methods and the ability to conduct thorough and accurate fieldwork. Experience in cataloging artifacts and maintaining detailed field notes. Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to cultural resources and archaeological sites. Strong observational skills and attention to detail in documenting and analyzing cultural resources. Education / Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field. At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience in archaeological fieldwork, including site survey, excavation, and documentation. Experience in artifact cataloging and maintaining field notes. Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to cultural resources and archaeological sites. Certification or coursework in archaeological field methods is preferred.
