* **Regulatory Requirements & Certifications:*** Complete or possess a minimum of 180 hours of training and complete all annual recertification requirements.* Maintain all required certifications such as:
+ New York State Licensure (or acquire within 6 months)
+ CPR, First Aid, AED
+ Fire & Life Safety Director Certification (or acquire within 1 year)
+ NY State-issued Driver's License in good standing* Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to handle crises calmly and efficiently.* Understanding of community policing principles and ability to build inclusive team dynamics.* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Docs, and security software platforms.* Able to manage conflict, make unbiased decisions under stress, and write clear incident reports.* Comfortable testifying in hearings and engaging with legal procedures.* Physically able to walk/stand for long and extended periods of time in various weather conditions; climb stairs; demonstrate agility and ability to move quickly and swiftly around the campus and perimeter; lift 25+ pounds and demonstrate ability to exert themselves in situations requiring bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting and other mobility necessary to complete the essential functions of the job.* Associate’s degree required.* Minimum 5 years in security/law enforcement, including 3 years in a supervisory role.* Must maintain a valid, clean NYS driver’s license.* Must be currently certified, or eligible and willing to obtain a minimum of 180 hours of training* Resident of the City of New York* If discharged from the military service, it shall not have been dishonorably; may be asked to provide a copy of DD214.* Strong judgment, physical fitness, and situational awareness.* Ability to travel and work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.* Prior experience in campus or educational security.* Familiarity with compliance standards (Clery, Title IX, ADA).* Prior experience supervising unionized security staff.* Military service, especially in law enforcement or security-related roles.* Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy.* Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or public safety.* Prior experience in executive protection, law enforcement, or military security. #J-18808-Ljbffr
