Position Summary
The Seattle Colleges are looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of Dental Assisting courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.
Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background and scheduling. Successful applicants may be invited to teach at Georgetown South Seattle College.
Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.
The salary range for part time faculty is $7,110.33 - $10,649.33 (P1: A1- E7).

What You Bring As a Candidate
At least three years of experience in the field/trade Education and/or training in the field and/or teaching in the field. Qualified and trained, or ability to become qualified and trained, to prepare the program site for instruction during inclement weather, including assisting in ensuring campus access. In the event that union-represented Grounds staff are unable to reach the campus due to weather conditions, faculty may be authorized to perform necessary de-icing or snow removal tasks to ensure safe access to the site, following established procedures. An understanding of the goals and role of the community college. Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels of on the topic of study. Teaching assignment(s) include any of the curriculum approved courses within the apprenticeship programs. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff. Standard duties of all part-time faculty as outlined in the AFT Seattle Colleges agreement, including, but not limited to, evaluation and assessment of student work, timely submission of grades, student, and administrative evaluations. Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning. The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting .
