Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The role uses GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model to develop a sales culture by creating individualized solutions for guests and providing outstanding guest service experiences. You will be responsible for ensuring products are easy to see and buy, building sales by sharing product knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized store, and growing guest loyalty. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during every transaction, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately; provide receipts and ensure high-quality guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe performance, provide feedback, and address issues to align with customer service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; input written feedback into Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; ensure understanding of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment function properly. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Perform inventory counts, stock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance daily POS totals and complete closeout paperwork; manage cash and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries according to guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Work independently and as part of a team; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly and follow instructions. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Demonstrate reliability, judgment, and problem-solving under pressure; be able to work alone and stand/move for extended periods.
