Overview

The Fox Center is pleased to open applications for our

2026-27 Postdoctoral Fellowships . We invite applications from recent PhD graduates from any university and from any humanistic discipline who are eager to engage with a lively, interdisciplinary community of scholars around our 2026-27 theme, habitat. The research theme habitat explores what it means to live in an uncertain world, shaped by environmental precarity, political displacement, and rapid technological transformation. How have human relationships with the places we inhabit been experienced, negotiated, and imagined across different periods and geographies? In what ways have we made sense of our surroundings and formed our notions of home and belonging? We expect Fellows will approach the concept of habitat through diverse lenses on the human experience, including, but not limited to, environmental humanities, science and technology studies, Indigenous and postcolonial studies, and urban studies.
