Overview

This is a dynamic role that will support a diverse portfolio of environmental remediation and engineering projects on behalf of CAPE's Technical Services Organization. This person will provide expertise in geology, hydrogeology, GIS, chemistry, drafting, environmental engineering, technical writing, and/or data management. Approximately 60% remote/office and 40% overnight travel to key project sites across the U.S. and Territories. Responsibilities

Lead field investigation and remedial action activities Subcontractor oversight Preparation of technical reports Field GPS operation Analytical and geo-data management, lithologic logging, soil boring and monitoring well installation Environmental sampling, project scheduling Write and review technical plans and reports; support end-to-end geo-data management; collect/analyze/interpret field and lab data Support field team management and coordination Highlights

Learn and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team 1:1 mentorship with licensed professionals (Professional Geologists/Engineers) Develop and implement novel engineering and process solutions Expectations

The role is solution-oriented and curious, with the ability to multi-task and work independently. The candidate should develop and review project plans, reports, and technical documents and interpret data to make decisions with Senior support as needed. May require self-directed training to learn software such as ArcGIS Pro, EnviroData, Trimble Business Center, Field Maps, Surfer, statistical software, and Adobe Illustrator. The role includes leading complex field activities and operating field equipment (environmental survey, sampling, and monitoring equipment such as PID, GPS, Landfill Gas monitor, Gamma meter, groundwater/soil/air sampling equipment). Minimum Experience

2-5+ years as Geologist, GIS Analyst, Environmental Engineer, or related role performing some or all listed responsibilities. A combination of BS and MS may substitute for one year. Education and Professional Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related Engineering field Professional competency using MS Office 1+ years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro Preferred Education and Professional Requirements

Master of Science (MS) in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related Engineering field Experience with DoD environmental work; drilling, well construction, and sampling Professional Certifications (GIT, EIT, PG, PE, or GIS Professional) Salary

$70,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Travel

Travel required to support fieldwork. Travel duration will vary by assignment; field durations longer than 4 weeks are not anticipated. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental investigations and/or remediation Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines Ability to work independently with attention to detail Valid driver’s license Experience with GPS data collection/processing (e.g., Trimble, ArcGIS Field Maps) Ability to pass background check for access to DOD installations Ability to meet physical demands of fieldwork Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field Knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations and best practices (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA) Experience with NAVFAC, USACE, or other DoD agencies Experience in quality control and/or safety roles Industry-standard trainings, such as OSHA HAZWOPER, safety and regulatory trainings Why CAPE?
