Overview
Infrastructure Storage Engineer at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. Will design, support, and maintain data storage systems for USAF Test Operations.
Job Summary Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) hired by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at AEDC. The role supports developmental test and evaluation activities across multiple facilities, ensuring reliable storage infrastructure.
Job Duties
Design, implement, and manage storage solutions including NetApp, SpectraLogic, Versity ScoutAM, VMware, RedHat OpenShift, HPE DMF.
Configure and maintain SAN infrastructure for optimal performance.
Manage LTO tape libraries for deep storage, backup, and archival.
Deploy and maintain Block, File, Object, and Linear Tape IO storage solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related issues promptly.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for seamless integration with other IT components.
Administer Red Hat Linux servers and OpenShift environments.
Maintain detailed documentation for storage configurations and procedures.
Stay current with industry trends and advise leadership on technology evolution.
Work with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure compliance with information assurance regulations.
Document, maintain, evaluate, and comply with Air Force cybersecurity requirements for IT system networks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT‑related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressively relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
Current U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD security clearance.
CompTIA Security+ Certification.
Certifications in relevant technologies (NetApp Certified Data Administrator, VMware Certified Professional, RedHat Certified Engineer, Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer).
Experience with HPE DMF and/or Versity ScoutAM.
Proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes.
Practical cybersecurity experience for DoD network acceptance.
Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
