JOB SUMMARY
Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment for general aviation aircraft. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, and written and verbal instructions.
Lay out of sheet metal parts using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions
Alter and existing part using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions.
Rivet and sheet metal component removal.
Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts.
Drill various metals.
Debur holes and cut lines.
Set up for and countersinking of holes.
Set up for and dimpling of holes.
Set up for and install solid rivets with a rivet gun.
Set up for and install solid rivets with a squeeze tool.
Install blind rivets and fasteners
EDUCATION Requires a Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
EXPERIENCE Aviation sheet metal experience is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Aircraft structure repair manuals.
FAA AC 43.13-1B.
Skilled in identifying types of corrosions.
Skilled in corrosion removal procedures.
