Sheet Metal Technician – Tampa, FL (Various Shifts)
Textron Aviation invites experienced sheet metal technicians to join our Tampa, FL team. This full‑time position offers a competitive salary of $60,000.00–$70,000.00, a first‑shift schedule, and a $4,000.00 pre‑tax sign‑on bonus. Terms and conditions apply. Job Overview
As a Sheet Metal Technician, you will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal components and equipment for general aviation aircraft. Your work may involve cutting, bending, straightening, and shaping sheet metal; operating hand and power tools; soldering and welding; deburring; and installing fasteners. Responsibilities
Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, from blueprints and instructions. Lay out sheet metal parts using blueprints, drawings, and instructions. Alter existing parts and fabricate new parts per blueprints and instructions. Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts. Drill various metal holes and debur holes and cut lines. Set up and countersink holes, dimple holes, and install solid rivets with a rivet gun, squeeze tool, or blind rivets. Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent certificate; WorkKeys certification (bronze level). Preferred experience in aviation sheet metal fabrication and repair. Knowledge of aircraft structure repair manuals (FAA AC 43.13‑1B). Skill in identifying types of corrosion, corrosion removal procedures, and applying wash etch and alodine material. Ability to install primer and identify rivets, bolts, screws, nuts, washers. Must obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority if applicable. Sign‑On Bonus
