Position Summary Supports the provision of patient care through the coordination of unit clerical activities, intra- and interdepartmental communication, record keeping and order transcription.
Responsibilities
Coordinate unit clerical activities and maintain accurate patient records
Communicate within and across departments to ensure smooth patient care and workflow
Transcribe orders and manage order transcription in a timely manner
Handle multiple tasks independently while maintaining high organizational standards
Qualifications
Required: Experience as unit coordinator, completion of unit coordinator course or previous clerical/secretarial experience
Preferred: Unit coordinator course and/or secretarial and computer training
Required: High School Degree or equivalency
Preferred: Unit coordinator course and/or secretarial and computer training

Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organization and time management skills
Computer proficiency and basic knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to use standard office equipment including fax machine, multi-line phones, and copiers
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently
Education
High School Degree or equivalency
Work Schedule 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. shift, 80 hours per pay period
Salary The minimum starting rate for this position is $16.32 per hour. Other factors such as experience, education, credentials, and internal equity may influence base rate.
