Overview
CMM Programmer (Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials) role at Mitsubishi Chemical America. This position involves creating and executing dimensional and vision inspection programs using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and other metrology tools, and working with quality, production, and engineering teams to ensure product compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. What You Will Do
Program and operate Zeiss Contura CMM machines using Calypso software to inspect complex plastic machined components. Develop and maintain inspection routines for first article, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 13485 standards. Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and customer specifications to apply GD&T principles accurately. Generate and maintain detailed inspection reports for internal documentation and external deliverables (e.g., FAIRs, validation protocols). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve dimensional issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Maintain organized libraries of inspection programs, ensuring traceability and version control per documented quality procedures. Support internal and external audits by demonstrating compliance with applicable quality management system requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For
Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent of 10+ years’ experience in a quality or inspection role (preferred). 2–5 years of CMM programming experience, with emphasis on Zeiss Calypso software (preferred). Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings; ASME Y14.5 or ASQ CQI certification preferred. Experience operating high-precision CMMs, including Zeiss Contura or equivalent. Proficient with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar (preferred). Familiarity with a range of metrology tools including micrometers, surface plates, height gauges, and optical comparators. Experience preparing FAIRs (AS9102), validation protocols, and control plans. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Prior experience in aerospace, medical device, or automotive manufacturing; plastics or injection molding background is a plus. Pay Transparency
The salary for this position starts at $34.35. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
