Position Overview As a
Counselor , you will play a crucial role in the recovery journey of our patients. You will help address the needs of individuals seeking help for substance use disorders through compassionate care and treatment methods.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure the completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other essential documentation in accordance with applicable federal and state standards and agency policies.
Provide patients with orientation regarding program objectives, phase system requirements, rules and regulations, sanctions, hours of services, patient rights, and other information to help patients adjust to the program.
Assess and place each patient according to treatment phases in accordance with Federal and State standards and agency policies.
Maintain clinical documentation and patient charts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Counsel patients in crisis situations by identifying resources and coping abilities to help resolve crisis.
Counsel patients who have refused to comply with program requirements to increase awareness of consequences of noncompliance.
Arrange referrals to other agencies and resources in the community when appropriate.
Perform treatment plan reviews and participate in case conferences and case reviews.
Develop knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations regarding confidentiality, methadone treatment, and substance abuse counseling certification.
Submit internal and external correspondence to supervisor for review and approval.
Complete intakes, facilitate group counseling sessions, and manage urine drug screening with proper chain of custody.
Secure necessary documentation from patients to ensure policy compliance.
Submit monthly and quarterly reports to supervisor; attend supervision and team meetings; complete training courses timely.
Other duties as assigned.
