Capital Contract Specialist

Knowledge of capital contracting with primary responsibilities which include the developing and negotiating of capital contracts with vendors, overseeing the capital bid process, monitoring contract performance, and interacting with project managers. Essential Functions
Accountable for the contracting lifecycle by ensuring that contracts effectively protect the interests of the organization, including analysis and negotiation of contract terms and conditions and for drafting contracts as needed in accordance with governing regulations and policy Coordinates with health system GPO through Vizient contract uptake and Group-Buy opportunities. Negotiates with capital suppliers to draw up procurement contracts. Negotiates, administers, extends, terminates, and renegotiates capital contracts. Formulates and coordinates procurement proposals. Coordinates activities of workers engaged in formulating bid proposals. Coordinate with Legal on review of contracts and variances outside of standard contractual language. Evaluates or monitors contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations. Approves or rejects requests for deviations from contract specifications and delivery schedules. Arbitrates claims or complaints occurring in performance of contracts. Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonableness of prices. Review and identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, utilization and other expense reduction or avoidance opportunities. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Three (3) years of experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications
Strong analytical and computer skills. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's degree. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
