Senior FOIA Paralegal
CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is inviting a Senior FOIA Paralegal to support the legal mission of a large federal agency.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal review and FOIA request processing, including searches and result set analysis.
Redact and code responsive documents and screen for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
Perform legal research and draft legal documents such as motions, memoranda, and FOIA responses.
Provide litigation support tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Paralegal certificate, JD, or current ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study.
Minimum one year litigation paralegal experience; trial experience highly desirable.
Experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, or other eDiscovery and document review tools.
Proven FOIA request processing and knowledge of FOIA rules, exemptions, and statutory guidelines.
Basic legal knowledge, standard legal citation, and proficiency with LEXIS, Westlaw, and other legal research tools.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong computer application proficiency.
Ability to work independently under extreme pressure and obtain a government security clearance.
Preferred Experience
Two years using Nuix Investigate for document review and tagging.
Two years processing FOIA requests for federal agencies.
Fluency in FOIA statutory and regulatory guidelines.
