Agency Attorney – New York City Police Pension Fund
Location: 233 Broadway, New York, NY 10279 Salary: $83,000 (Annual) – Non‑competitive Job Summary The Legal unit of the New York City Police Pension Fund (NYCPPF) handles a broad range of legal issues, including CPLR Article 78 proceedings, pensions and benefits, employment law, family law, FOIL and Open Meetings Law, and trust and estates law. Under the supervision of the General Counsel, the Agency Attorney will receive training and practical experience in the legal operations of the Fund. Key Responsibilities Conduct legal research and analysis. Prepare internal memoranda. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with members and attorneys. Review and analyze legal documents, including proposed and certified domestic relations orders, support enforcement orders, powers of attorney, letters of administration and letters testamentary. Assist in the preparation and verification of case files and pleadings in Article 78 proceedings. Review and respond to subpoenas. Draft and review contracts. Assist in processing Freedom of Information Law requests. Perform other special projects as may be required by the Unit. Minimum Qualifications Admission to the New York State Bar. One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar; or six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Intern (30086). Incumbents must remain members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. Preferred Skills Proficiency in WestLaw (including WestLaw Edge).
