Overview

Responsibilities
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving complex equipment, programming, system, and installation problems and issues on Two-Way Radios, Land Mobile Radios, P25 Trunking Systems, MOTOTRBO, etc. Fixing the system if things go wrong and bringing communications back online to public safety, hospitals, and other mission-critical customers. Partnering with customers to develop an installation/programming strategy and coordinate with the team to ensure access to locations where products will be installed. Assisting in the scoping out and quoting of service, installation, and programming projects. Supporting the development of talent and technical skill sets of the service team. Completing assigned tickets properly and on time. Making minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploying factory software and firmware updates. Demonstrating a willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies in communications and equipment. Serving in an on-call rotation and providing 24/7 technical support.
Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years, an average of 5+ years of technical service and installation experience. Proficient with radio equipment – installation, programming, and troubleshooting. Proven track record of providing hands‑on operational, technical, and installation support/service to complex radio and other wireless communications systems/equipment. Extensive knowledge of radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands, and communications systems. Subscriber programming expert and can successfully program various radio types based on customer requirements. Strong communication skills with end users and third parties. P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience is required.
Environment and Physical Requirements
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands to handle objects or controls, reaches with arms, climbs stairs, talks or hears, uses personal protective equipment, lifts equipment up to 50 pounds, operates a motor vehicle, and may be on‑call for critical systems maintenance. First shift hours are Monday–Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
Travel Requirements
Travel to job sites in Washington, DC, and Maryland is required. A company vehicle will be provided. The individual must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass our Motor Vehicle Record check.
