Overview The Jail Treatment Program Counselor position offers mental health and addiction services to adults within the Lake County Adult Detention Facility. This position is responsible for completing diagnostic assessments, running an intensive outpatient group, providing individual counseling, discharge planning services, and service coordination with the courts and probation departments who refer clients to the program. The provider will engage as a member of a collaborative team and, with a trauma-informed approach, will be a representative for the organization in how we offer integrated services for recovery and mental health. Responsibilities
Complete diagnostic assessments and provide therapeutic services. Run an intensive outpatient group and provide individual counseling. Develop discharge plans and coordinate services with courts and probation departments. Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team. Represent the organization with a trauma-informed approach to integrated recovery and mental health services. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human services (required); Master’s Degree in Human Services/Addiction/Social Work/Mental Health (preferred). Experience: Two to three years of experience working with mental health and addiction (preferred); two to three years of experience with an incarcerated population (preferred). L icensure/Certifications: Licensed in the State of Ohio with LPC/LSW, LPCC/LISW; State of Ohio Chemical Dependency Credential (CDCA I, CDCA II, LCDC II, LCDC III, LICDC, LICDC-CS); BLS/First Aid (as applicable, company provided).
