$34.50 - $50.60 per hour. Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience. Location
Power Systems - CO | 05, Aurora, CO 80011, USA Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision, the Power Systems Class A Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul, and maintenance of customer and company on-highway truck engines, electronics, and chassis components in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.” Prepares accurate and complete service reports and related inspection forms for on-highway tractors and trailers. Effectively communicates with customers and peers verbally and in writing. Accurately completes time cards and other work station functions and correctly charges work to appropriate work order segments. Uses Service Information System (SIS) and orders correct parts; uses Caterpillar websites as needed. Keeps and maintains information on a job and uses current shop processes to retain and track information. Performs work in a neat and professional manner and communicates with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators, and Shop Managers about repair status and required follow-up. Promotes additional work and services to customers. Diagnoses and troubleshoots engine and on-highway truck malfunctions and failures; analyzes repair and maintenance requirements on engines and chassis. Performs work with accuracy and minimal rework, staying up to date with tooling, technologies, and systems. Adheres to safe working practices and all company safety requirements; maintains a clean and organized work area. Performs maintenance on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment; makes warranty-driven repair recommendations. Understands Caterpillar Electronic Engine Control systems and Caterpillar emissions systems; completes diagnosis and repairs with minimal supervision; uses Caterpillar online training as appropriate. Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures; other duties as assigned by manager. Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides direction, training, mentoring, and guidance to other technicians as may be assigned by service supervisors. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred 4 years experience in heavy equipment, engine or electric power generation system repair 1-3 years administrative experience 3-5 years customer service experience CDL (will be required to advance from B to A) 609 Air Conditioning Certification Air Brake Certification DOT Inspector Qualifications Physical Demands & Competencies
Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands and hearing Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc. Heavy lifting up to 86 pounds or more Data entry, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication, and math skills Safety and product knowledge; basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook Ability to search for and enter data into a computer; ability to type service reports Work Environment
