The Radiologic Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs radiology procedures on patients. These procedures are requested by a physician or licensed provider to diagnose disease and injury, following established protocols. Responsibilities

Perform high-quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Demonstrate an understanding of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring. Take action if the estimated dose exceeds set reference levels, including patient follow-up when appropriate. Utilize patient communication techniques (AIDET) to identify service needs, ensure the correct exam is performed, build rapport, and inform patients and families about the test. Assess the patient\'s ability to tolerate the exam. Prepare the patient and area for the procedure. Position the patient, adjust immobilization devices, and move equipment into position. Set exposure factors as needed. Protect patients and staff by following safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies. Use sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintain hand hygiene. Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation. Report issues to management or appropriate department. Assist in maintaining supplies inventory. Screen individuals entering the department according to approved policies and procedures to ensure safety. Obtain, verify, and maintain relevant documentation (requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures). Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system and in compliance with department policies and standards for timely interpretation. Qualifications
