Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Electrophysiology Lab Tech for a 13-week travel assignment in Portland, Oregon. This role involves assisting in electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized procedures within the EP lab. You will prepare patients for procedures, operate and troubleshoot EP lab equipment, monitor patient responses, and maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Travel EP Lab Tech Required Qualifications
One year’s recent experience as an EP Lab Tech Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification Current ACLS certification Preferred Qualifications
Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations PALS or ENPC certifications Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; proficiency with PCs Physical abilities to stay stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment Ability to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and work under varying supervision Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits
