Network Administrator – Contract to Hire (3–6 Months)
Location: Thornton, CO (100% Onsite)
Target Salary on Conversion: $120,000–$150,000
Overview A multi-entity industrial manufacturing group is hiring a network administrator to help stabilize, standardize, and secure infrastructure across multiple operating units. This is a contract-to-hire role, onsite in Thornton, Colorado, with the opportunity to convert to full-time based on performance and organizational alignment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys hands-on work with infrastructure, and brings strong initiative and respectful confidence to their approach.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, configure, and troubleshoot VMware environments, LAN/WAN, firewalls, and other infrastructure components
Oversee user access, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy in Active Directory and Azure AD
Administer and support Windows Server, O365, and backup solutions
Monitor networks for performance, stability, and security threats; lead Tier III incident response
Collaborate with IT leadership to propose improvements, set standards, and document network configurations
Partner with cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure compliance with best practices
Create and manage user roles, permissions, and backup strategies
Support ongoing infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
Occasional travel (up to 30%) for project or site-level support
What You Bring Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
8–10+ years of experience in infrastructure and network administration
Hands‑on experience with VMware, Windows Server, Azure AD, Group Policy, PowerShell, O365, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP
Knowledge of Fortinet firewall technologies, VPN, and multi‑factor authentication
Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills; able to work independently
Professional, collaborative demeanor with the confidence to drive results respectfully
Preferred/Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls, UniFi switching, LANSweeper, Mimecast
Experience with Synology appliances, backup solutions, or SAN storage (EMC, Cisco, Dell)
Exposure to CMMC and NIST frameworks
Certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP
Work Conditions & Schedule
Standard: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shift
Flexibility for after‑hours or weekend support as needed during critical project phases
Onsite requirement in Thornton, CO
Indoor and outdoor work may be required; must be able to lift light‑to‑moderate equipment and navigate facility settings
