People Technology & Systems Lead
is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of our People Technology and Analytics operations. In this role, you will drive the HR technology strategy and analytics implementation to support data-driven decisions for the people department. You act as a product owner for our HR tech stack – ensuring systems are utilized to their fullest – and support analytics initiatives to deliver insights through data collection, survey management, and reporting development. This is an individual contributor role with matrixed team leadership, guiding analysts and specialists without direct reporting lines. You will optimize our tech stack, manage vendor relationships, and execute strategies around HR technology (Greenhouse, Workday, Asana, Looker, etc.), while overseeing key analytics and listening programs (such as employee experience surveys). Key Responsibilities: HR Tech Stack Management:
Oversee the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of HR systems (Workday for core HR and talent management, Peakon, Greenhouse for recruiting, Workramp for learning, Looker for analytics reporting). Ensure these tools are well-integrated and configured to meet evolving needs. Identify opportunities to leverage features and drive enhancements that improve the employee and manager experience. Vendor Management & Integration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for HR technology vendors. Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and SaaS providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service levels are met. Stay informed about new offerings or updates and plan adoption or rollout. Ensure integrations between systems are secure and functioning. HR Technology Strategy & Roadmap:
Develop a forward-looking strategy for the HR tech ecosystem. Collaborate with the Director of Insights, Systems, & AI, and IT to align the roadmap with business priorities. Recommend innovative solutions and balance business goals with employee needs by using listening mechanisms to inform decisions. People Analytics & Data Adoption:
Drive data-driven decisions across HR and business stakeholders. Improve people data dashboards, enable self-service analytics, and train partners to interpret analytics. Develop key metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports and storytelling to leadership. Employee Experience Surveys:
Own end-to-end processes for listening programs (engagement, onboarding, exit surveys). Design strategy, manage survey administration, and translate results into actionable insights to drive improvements. Change Management & Training:
Lead change management for new system implementations. Develop communications, training materials, and job aids. Promote modern software development practices (e.g., Agile) in HR tech projects and collaborate with IT on releases. Data Governance, Compliance, & AI Ethics:
Ensure secure handling of HR data and compliance with privacy regulations. Define data governance policies and coordinate with InfoSec/IT and Legal/Compliance on policies (GDPR, CCPA). Process Improvement:
Continuously improve HR processes through technology and data, focusing on user-friendly interfaces and streamlined workflows. Collaboration & Partnering:
Act as a bridge between the People Technology & Analytics team and stakeholders. Partner with People Operations, People Business Partners, Recruiting, IT, and Finance to ensure initiatives deliver value. Mentor analytics staff and HRIS specialists as needed. Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field (graduate degree is a plus). 8–10 years of experience in HR Technology/People Analytics or related fields; experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments (ideally SaaS/tech). Hands-on experience with Workday (3+ years) including administration or implementation; familiarity with other components (Performance management, ATS, LMS, BI dashboards) is required. Strong analytical mindset with experience leading reporting or analytics functions (e.g., dashboards in Workday or Looker) and translating data into actionable insights. Proven ability to lead projects and influence without direct authority; strong program management and change management skills. Technical acumen to understand HR systems architecture and integrations, with a people-centric approach to design; UX or systems thinking is a plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners and leadership. Passion for using technology and data to solve problems and improve the employee experience; a continuous learner of HR tech trends. Pay & Benefits Pay Range (Base Pay) : $111,000 - $168,000 Other Pay : Equity and short-term incentives (bonus/commission) based on level and role.
