Job Overview L3Harris is seeking an experienced and highly motivated embedded software engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development and experience with digital signal processing (DSP). This position involves design, implementation, verification and troubleshooting of real-time embedded software and signal processing algorithms.
Location and Schedule Job Location:
Rochester, NY or Sunrise, FL (Onsite) Job Schedule:
9/80 – Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off
Responsibilities
Work closely with an Agile team of experienced software engineers on projects that involve the development and analysis of innovative real-time signal processing solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in DSP technology and apply new techniques and methodologies.
Contribute to the strategic direction of DSP solutions and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Essential Functions
Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems design.
Development experience with the Linux OS.
Proficiency with C++ and C programming languages.
Proficiency with multi-threaded, multi-core, and real-time operating systems.
Experience with object-oriented software development.
Understanding of Design, Implementation, Integration and Testing of large software systems.
Experience with embedded software emulators/debuggers.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team including hardware, software, and systems engineers.
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 - 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, there is a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in Embedded Software or DSP.
Preferred Additional Skills
Experience designing, developing, and implementing DSP algorithms.
Experience simulating and analyzing DSP algorithms.
Experience optimizing software for performance, power consumption, and memory usage on various hardware platforms.
Experience using test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
Experience with radio communications including waveforms, modulations, coding schemes and digital signaling.
Experience with communications security (COMSEC) and transmission security (TRANSEC) concepts and algorithms.
Experience with software development using artificial intelligence.
Salary Range In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $73,000 - $136,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
