Location: Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) - Downtown Dallas, Texas Unit: Interventional Radiology Brand new, state-of-the-art IR department expansion launched in June 2024. We have the latest equipment and perform procedures from simple to high-end treatments. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and advance your career. Shift: FT/Days | 10-hour shifts | 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. On Call: 7-8 call shifts per month (1 shift per week and 1 weekend per month) within a 30-minute radius. Essential Functions
Performs high-quality IR procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Uses AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam, and establish rapport. Instructs and communicates with patients and their families regarding the test and assesses patient tolerance. Prepares patient and area for procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety, infection-control, drug and radiation policies and techniques. Maintains sterile techniques and hand hygiene. Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Screening for safety to enter the department according to approved policies and procedures. Obtains, verifies, and maintains relevant documentation such as requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, and procedures. Maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system and according to department policies for timely interpretation. Key Success Factors
Able to perform high-quality IR procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Able to explain the procedure and put patients at ease. Able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with system and regulatory standards. Able to perform tasks autonomously without routine oversight. Able to maintain a calm and helpful attitude under stress and resolve issues appropriately. Able to administer first aid and use emergency equipment when needed. Able to ensure patient satisfaction by minimizing wait times and providing courteous service; review patient satisfaction scores and develop action plans as required. Demonstrates current knowledge and ongoing skills appropriate for age groups served: newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, geriatric. Able to serve as a preceptor by training new team members on new services and initiatives. Able to take call, if required. Benefits
