The System Accounting Supervisor position is responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger and cost accounting. Prepares reports, reviews and reconciles data, and participates in the development of specialized financial data. Researches and resolves discrepancies. Oversees and prepares entries and adjustments to records, files, and statements. Position is remote. Responsibilities
Accounting - Ensures accounting functions and duties are accurately and promptly completed. Establishes effective schedules and balanced distribution of work. Prepares journal entries and balances work in more complicated accounting areas. Oversees account reconciliation and balancing. Researches and resolves accounting errors and discrepancies. Follows up to ensure corrections are recorded. Assists with budget preparations and financial analyses. Prepares reports and statements for management. Ensures accounting functions are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations. Recommends changes to procedures when warranted. Project Management - Manages program and project assignments, independently or collaboratively, to accomplish complex accounting analyses. Identifies issues and develops strategies to address them before they become critical. Keeps leadership informed of project status and potential problems. Leading People - Leads and develops a team aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Allocates resources, conducts evaluations, tracks LMS training, and participates in hiring, training, and day-to-day management. Oversees sign-off for various employee tasks. Reporting & Analysis - Validates and analyzes data related to accounting metrics. Develops and maintains reports. Improves reporting, efficiency, quality, and speed using available technologies. Results Driven - Exceeds departmental and organizational goals and customer expectations; applies financial concepts to monitor overall financial status of operations. Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Licensure/Certification Requirements
CPA preferred Professional Experience Requirements
If a Bachelor's degree: Five (5) years of accounting experience including complex financial analysis and reporting, with exposure to preparing data and reports that support strategic financial recommendations to key executives. If Masters Degree: Two (2) years accounting experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
Previous supervisor or team lead experience preferred. Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized accounting expertise. Job Details
