This is an early career opportunity for the potential candidate to work in First Line Risk (FLR) management for the SwapClear business. FLR core responsibilities include continuous monitoring and validation of market data, valuations, margin levels and market risk.
The team also provides direction and input to the Risk Change program, including pre-implementation testing of changes, and desk-level initiatives to increase efficiency of processes. The Risk Analyst will have direct involvement in carrying out these responsibilities and will also provide analytical support to internal and external partners.
The candidate is required to have strong analytical and interpersonal skills and superior attention to detail. The candidate should also be passionate about the financial industry and a keen learner.
Responsibilities General
Develop strong understanding of OTC clearing, interest rate swaps and the SwapClear risk model.
Own issues and their resolution. Raise issues appropriately and flag incidents in a timely manner.
Challenge the status quo; identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency while appropriately addressing risk.
Adhere to applicable risk control frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure 'best practice' risk management is followed.
Day-to-day
Monitor risk exposures and identify exposures that near or above internal risk limits.
Validate market data for LCH's interest rate swap curves used for mark-to-market and historical VaR calculations, including intraday and end-of-day market data verifications in accordance with SwapClear procedures.
Ensure accurate margining of members commensurate with risk, market moves and the SwapClear risk framework. Raise issues where necessary.
Perform user acceptance testing and contribute to testing process improvements.
Data and Analysis
Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of data resources managed by the FLR team.
Analyze and interpret data to provide accurate information for stakeholders regarding markets, sectors and individual members and clients.
Provide analytical support to internal and external stakeholders.
Respond to queries regarding the margin model, risk framework and ad-hoc scenarios such as the potential impact of new trading activity or post-trade events.
Qualifications
Experience/familiarity (work or academic) with financial products and risk management. Knowledge of OTC and exchange-traded interest rate products a strong plus.
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
Superior attention to detail.
Experience using Excel, Python, Power BI for analysis, process automation, data extraction and data presentation. SQL knowledge also a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Self-motivated individual who is curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn and develop their own opinions.
Holds self to high standards of accuracy, integrity, team orientation, desire to effect positive change.
Compensation and Benefits LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $59,400 - $99,200. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
