As a Commercial Lines Account Manager within the Shepherd family, you will assist insurance advisors in the handling and processing of new and renewal commercial lines business in accordance with Agency procedures and guidelines. You will also provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing commercial accounts. The team emphasizes a positive attitude and customer service to clients as assigned and requested.
Responsibilities
Provide positive, prompt, and accurate service to clients.
Coordinate with advisors to obtain policy information and maintain expiration control logs.
Assist in marketing new and renewal business, evaluate premiums, prepare proposals, and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier.
Accompany insurance advisors to client meetings when requested.
Check new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating and coverage, input transactions, and ensure delivery to clients or advisors.
Handle calls from clients and companies regarding policies, claims, or administrative needs, and refer to advisors as necessary.
Maintain a follow-up system on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and overdue items.
Assist other departments and advisors in cross-selling and account rounding.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable.
Required state licensing certification.
High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is preferred but not necessary.
Strong understanding of commercial lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and policy rating systems.
Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office and agency management systems.
