Overview

Dynamic law firm that litigates, counsels, and navigates its clients through complex legal matters throughout southern California, and a variety of other states. We represent clients in complex civil litigation matters, including toxic torts (talc, asbestos, lead paint, benzene), environmental, products liability, construction defect, and general liability cases. Our attorneys are highly experienced trial attorneys that have taken numerous cases to verdict in a variety of fields, including asbestos, products liability, construction accident, breach of contract, dram shop, and child abuse. Responsibilities

Build case defenses and trial themes autonomously Support national trial and coordinating counsel team to manage litigation nationwide for large corporate clients Analyze the application of state and federal case and regulatory law to the facts of cases for pre-trial motions and other submissions Draft original motions and other litigation-related documents on complex matters Draft discovery requests and responses to be exchanged with various parties Interview potential and preparing witnesses for testimony in litigation or before regulatory bodies Take and defend lay, expert, and corporate representative depositions. Argue motions Develop client relationships through oral and written communication Draft pre-trial reports and performing risk analysis Participate in mediations and/or court-mandated status, settlement conferences and hearings Develop overall strategies for case resolution and solve problems creatively Identify, assign and supervise work for case paralegals Interact and potentially manage outside co-defense counsel to negotiate global discovery strategies Negotiate settlements with plaintiffs and other opposing parties Participating in networking opportunities to develop client relationships Demonstrate leadership in the local community through memberships in bar associations and other organizations Develop oneself as a resource for other attorneys involved in the firm’s practice areas Provide support and assistance to Shareholders, Partners, and Senior Counsel Must meet annual billable requirements and adhere to the Attorney Timekeeping Policy Qualifications

Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school Requires admittance to the California State Bar Self-motivated individual with high energy willing to do whatever it takes to complete responsibilities on deadline Litigation experience in a law firm Experience in billable work environment Experience in mass-torts, class actions, environmental, commercial litigation, abuse, harassment and discrimination, or other complex risk management experience required Client service oriented and experience required Effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs Superior written and oral communication skills with attention to detail Demonstrates personal awareness and desire for continued personal and professional development FileVine or Document Management system experience is preferred Employment type
