High School Level American Literature Tutor (Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform)
The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from home. Compensation and Schedule Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40/hour for the same student over time. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in High School Level American Literature and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Preference given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and/or graduate-level education. Ways To Connect With Students 1-on-1 Online Tutoring — provide personalized instruction to individual students. Instant Tutoring — accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever you’re available. Platform and Logistics We handle logistics—you invoice for tutoring sessions, and we process payments. Our AI-powered Tutor Copilot offers real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to help you save preparation time and focus on teaching.
