Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system, including making correct changes, placing merchandise in a bag, providing a receipt, and ensuring top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training staff on company policies and procedures. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback to the Store Manager, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document performance in Workday / HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates, ensure schedule guidelines are followed, manage breaks/meals, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, stock/restock, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash and bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate discrepancies to leadership. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records/files; assist with up-to-date manuals. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures; open/close procedures as required. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and as part of a team; perform tasks timely. Meet performance expectations for attendance, safety, and conduct. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow written or diagrammed instructions. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Handle pressure and adapt to change; be a problem solver. Be reliable and trustworthy; use good judgment. Able to work alone and stand/move for extended periods; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
