What you will do
The HVAC Equipment Account Executive is responsible for selling Johnson Controls HVAC Equipment offerings to mechanical contractors, designers, consulting engineers, and owners. You will promote the Johnson Controls value proposition by providing business and technical solutions and building long-term customer relationships. You will also assist in promoting and selling Building Controls offerings in collaboration with the branch Controls sales team. This position is onsite; candidates must be within commuting distance to Providence, RI, or able to relocate.
Responsibilities include executing the sales process, cultivating and managing long-term relationships, seeking out and closing new sales opportunities, and expanding the offerings within assigned accounts. You will lead account teams on key owner accounts with significant growth potential, requiring robust equipment expertise and ongoing sales skill development.
How you will do it
Sells Johnson Controls offerings persuasively and confidently to the construction community, managing multiple opportunities, and expanding renewable service agreements.
Builds partnerships with owner construction decision-makers, actively listens, understands customer business cycles, and demonstrates technical and business credibility to foster loyalty and trust.
Targets prospective customers, develops industry contacts, and leverages the sales process to match solutions to customer needs, differentiating Johnson Controls' offerings.
Prepares competitive estimates, proposals, and cost/benefit analyses; negotiates and closes sales effectively.
Utilizes the sales process and CRM system to manage pipeline activities and forecast sales confidently.
Acts as the customer advocate, ensuring value delivery, setting appropriate expectations, and participating in project inspections and training.

3+ years of successful large commercial HVAC Equipment field sales experience.
