Job Description Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine to work on an NIH grant focused on HIV-1-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). The Post Doc will independently conduct

in vivo

experiments to determine the effects of HIV-free EVs on mitochondrial and BBB dysfunction in brain microvasculature of NSG mice. The applicant should be interested in research involving HIV-1, extracellular vesicles, and neuropathogenesis.

We are seeking an applicant with proven expertise in rodent surgical techniques, including surgeries, handling, and monitoring of rodents, as well as experience in approaches such as immunofluorescence, western blotting, ELISA, and RT-qPCR. Familiarity with

in vivo

experiments is essential.

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will work as part of a team including faculty, laboratory personnel (technicians and students). Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, grant writing and submission, supervising and training students in lab techniques, assisting with teaching Medical Pharmacology Problem-Based Learning, and helping with lab maintenance and supplies.

Preference will be given to individuals with experience in virology and molecular biology, and familiarity with in vivo experiments is preferred.
