Overview

Structural Group Manager role in Benesch's North Carolina division. This position offers opportunities to work with local agencies and DOTs on complex structures projects involving structural replacement design, bridge inspection, and associated rehabilitation and repairs. The most successful candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer with experience in client development and providing structural engineering services for public agencies, including DOTs, counties, and municipalities. As a Group Manager, team building and management are essential requirements, and the candidate should be enthusiastic about staff management, client management, and client development. Location

The position has a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Raleigh office location. The Impact You Will Have

Manage and grow the North Carolina division Structural Engineering Group, including the design, inspection, and rehabilitation service lines Manage project teams, accountable for staffing, budget, and schedule across multiple offices Contribute to local, regional, and corporate strategic growth initiatives including the expansion of bridge and structural design services within North Carolina and the Southeast region Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits Collaborate on regional growth strategy Mentor junior and mid-level engineers What You Will Need

Bachelor or master’s degree in civil or structural engineering or related discipline Professional Engineer licensure in North Carolina Proven experience working with NCDOT, other state DOTs and/or local agencies Experience in alternative project delivery methods (including design-build, CM/GC, progressive design-build and other delivery methods) is desired but not required Experience with bridge inspection services is desired but not required Experience writing and preparing technical reports for structural and other civil engineering disciplines Experience developing scope of service documents and accompanying man-hour budgets Progressive experience working with clients to develop relationships and win work Excellent communication, business development, project management, and client relations skills Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to adhere to contractual requirements Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and grow a dynamic team Understanding of project financials and reporting; align with Division and Project financial objectives including chargeability, profit, and overhead Participation in professional organizations such as ACEC, ASCE, ASHE and/or NSPE is encouraged Experience with asset management principles and structural applications for private and public clients Ability to write and prepare effective project proposals and non-technical documents Experience with value engineering principles as they pertain to structural design Experience with Deltek VantagePoint is preferred but not required for management responsibilities Ability to review and coordinate professional services contracts and project documentation to minimize risk and ensure compliance Benefits and Professional Development
