Position: Scheduling Coordinator - Heart Center - Poughkeepsie Clinical, Poughkeepsie, NY. Full Time/40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts between 7:00am–6:00pm, Monday–Friday. Employer: Nuvance Health Overview

The Scheduling Coordinator provides scheduling support for HVCP’s physicians, advanced practice providers, lab and diagnostic imaging appointments. Responsible for scheduling all pre-procedure, procedure and post-procedure appointments in the clinic and hospital setting. Includes full registration, collecting co-pays, checking eligibility, check-in/out, answering calls/voicemail, scanning paperwork, managing cancellations/no-shows, scheduling pools, referrals, and queues. Maintains a professional, compassionate, and positive attitude and participates as a dynamic member of the office, identifying opportunities for improvement. Responsibilities

Schedules cardiac inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging and cardiac-specific appointments. Coordinates with prior authorization to ensure approvals are obtained prior to appointments. Schedules all clinic patients, obtains all records, and confirms chart completion prior to the patient’s clinic appointment. Coordinates retrieval of outside imaging and/or records needed for clinic patients. Facilitates clinic flow; available to make calls, schedule last-minute tests, and assist providers as needed. Supports design and implementation of solutions to identified trends or problem areas. Collaborates with other departments to streamline pre-procedure scheduling to optimize the patient experience. Ensures medical records are compliant with HIPAA, confidentiality regulations, and corporate standards. Completes booking sheets for outpatient procedures and routes documents to the cardiac catheterization lab as required. Reconciles incoming correspondence and medical records; scans documents according to NHMP workflow and office protocols with proper naming conventions for organized patient records. Complies with all Nuvance Health, HVCP and affiliate policies and applicable laws and regulations. Maintains contemporary professional knowledge and education. Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a medical office administrative role Minimum of one (1) year EMR products/solutions experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of medical records/HIPAA requirements, insurance carrier requirements, EMR systems Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook and other desktop software Strong communication, interpersonal skills and patient empathy Excellent customer service skills Salary Range: $20.79 - $33.48 hourly (based on years of relative experience) EOE, including disability/vets.
