Overview Coborn’s Inc. is building a new location in Plymouth, MN, and is hiring a Chef de Cuisine to lead the culinary operations of our new in‑store restaurants. With mentorship from a local Minnesota Chef, you will drive menu development, maintain cost control, and ensure operational excellence while partnering with vendors to bring fresh, local products that WOW our guests.

Responsibilities Culinary Excellence & Creativity

Lead recipe development, menu planning, and seasonal offerings that reflect precision, passion, and integrity.

Constantly source the highest quality ingredients, maintain vendor relationships, and stay on top of culinary trends.

Maintain recipe books, portion guidelines, and plating standards to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction.

Balance creativity with operational goals, ensuring menus are both innovative and cost‑effective.

Guest & Brand Experience

Ensure all food served reflects brand quality, flavor, and presentation standards.

Partner with Front of House staff to address guest feedback and continuously improve the dining experience.

Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining a visible presence in the in‑store restaurants to inspire staff and engage guests when appropriate.

Cleanliness, Food Safety & Organization

Delegate and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules, ensuring a spotless and compliant kitchen.

Hold all back‑of‑house staff accountable to uniform, hygiene, and food safety standards.

Organize storage areas for optimal efficiency; oversee proper product labeling, dating, and rotation.

Conduct regular inspections to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.

Operational & Administrative Management

Prepare and manage back‑of‑house staff schedules to align with labor budgets and business demand.

Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventories; reconcile usage and report variances.

Monitor and analyze COGS, labor efficiency, and profitability; provide regular reports to Store Director.

Manage vendor orders and purchasing to align with inventory controls and budget goals.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

Ensure compliance with food safety laws, OSHA standards, and company policies.

Regularly review and update kitchen processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Stay informed on industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes.

Champion a culture of continuous improvement in both culinary and operational areas.

People Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and develop a team of FOH and BOH staff, providing direction, feedback, and coaching to build skills, morale, and engagement.

Lead by example to foster a positive, disciplined kitchen culture that values teamwork, accountability, and growth.

Qualifications • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef in a high‑volume kitchen. • Strong culinary background with a proven track record of menu development and cost control. • Excellent leadership and team‑building skills. • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay Range USD $55,000.00 – USD $87,000.00 / Yr.
